Butterfly Kisses

Hi, Patti here, this is a Design Team project for Scrapadabadoo!!!  I have used the Memories Captured collection by Fancy Pants and the 6 x 6 Burlap pad by DCWV. I just love this Fancy Pants collection because it's perfect for boys but can be just as much fun for a girly layout too.
I girlyed (is that a word???) the page up, by diecutting two fancy flourishes by Cherry Lynn Designs and mirroring them which created a heart shape in the center of the page.  I then used some glossy accents to give it some dimension and it also gives it some strength since it's a pretty delicate diecut.
I then diecut some flowers using the Tim Holtz tattered florals die out of the burlap to tie into the burlap banner under the picture, plus the burlap keeps the flowers a bit masculine.  I layered some punched flowers using the Retro flower punches by EK Success.  I also added some punched butterflies using 2 different Martha Stewart punches.  In order to be able to give them dimension, I double them up.  It gives them a bit more stability so they keep their shape.  I then finished them off by brushing them with some clear Wink of Stella....I LOVE that pen!!!
I used some foam adhesives to pop up some of the elements for added dimension and interest.
The photo is of my daughter and my 2 year old grandson...he just learned how to give butterfly kisses and thought it was the greatest thing.

Thank you for stopping by and your comments.

Go Your Own Way

This is my first post as a design team member for Scrapadabadoo.com.  My first assignment was to create a layout and I can't think of any better subject than my 2 year old grandson, Cash.  I think this layout perfectly captures his personality.

I will include links to the supplies of this layout at the end of this post.

I began by choosing my papers from the Memories Captured Collection selecting the Shining Star, Memories and Family album papers.  I also used some of the tape stickers from the collection.

I then randomnly stamped my background paper using the Chevron and Edges stamps by Kaisercraft  in Coffee Archival ink by Ranger.

I then moved on to the main cluster of embellishments by using a sprocket chipboard piece by Paper Accents that I layered with some diecut pieces using the Tim Holtz Bigz Gears die that I used Gilders paste on in copper and german silver then added some Distress Embossing powder in Vintage Photo to give the gears a realistic metal look.

To complete the cluster I added a label sticker from the Memories Captured collection, some chipboard hearts using the Sizzix movers and shapers mini hearts by Tim Holtz and topped it off with some Studio Calico arrow wood veneers.

I repeated the same techniques in my second cluster for continuity and to keep your eye moving across the page.

I then scattering some enamel dots from the Teresa Collins Family Stories collection that matched perfectly. I love being able to pair collections together.

I completed the look by dipping a fan brush in some chocolate Dylusions mists and tapping the handle to create the spatters.

Thank you ~Patti~

Family Love

This is a 7Gypsies Printer's Tray that I've had in my stash forever.   I finally decided to gift it for some of my nearest and dearest friends.

I used a little bit of everything that I had in my stash from Prima and 7Gypsies.

I also incorporated some of my favorite techniques of distressing and adding glossy accents then topped it off with my all time favorite ribbon from May Arts in the black and cream stripe.
